So why do you want to work in PR?
This question will always come up at interview. Those
with first-hand experience of working in an agency or
in-house department will, without a doubt stand out from
the crowd.
This is why, over the past three years we have given
more than twenty students and graduates work experience
at Apples & Pears Marketing. Many of them have gone on
to great jobs – some of them here!
Here’s what they have to say about their experience with
us…
“It gave me a real insight into how the PR industry
works, it's role within the media, and especially it's
close relationship with journalism. During my time at
Apples and Pears I learnt skills which have proved
extremely useful including writing press releases and
the development of my telephone skills”
Felicity Carter now at The Guardian Unlimited
"Whilst at University at Nottingham Trent, I worked at
Apples & Pears. Its a great PR firm with a small team so
you can get really stuck in and get involved in lots of
different projects. I really enjoyed it and it
definitely helped me decide what I wanted to do and
ultimately get some experience for my job now."
Lisa Callison now at GCap Media
“Within one month I had travelled to London and met
national journalists, helped out at a photo shoot,
written a press release, conducted local press call
rounds and got an insight into how new business pitches
are put together. I learnt a great deal about the PR
industry and was given the chance to learn new skills
which set me in good stead for the world of work.”
Tania Kelly now at Bunches Florapost
